Xavi Razo had not won in the NASCAR México Series since Aguascalientes in 2025. His start to the season had been difficult: he finished 30th at San Luis Potosí and 24th at Chiapas, results that sent him to the bottom of the standings. But the championship is long, and Razo began to correct course. He was 6th at Tulum, 13th at Puebla and 8th at Aguascalientes, an upward trend that put him back in the conversation. The Querétaro 140, the sixth round of the calendar, returned him to victory in a tight finish where the final caution played in his favour.

Razo arrived at Querétaro in 14th place in the championship with 145 points, far from the top ten positions that grant direct passage to the postseason. But he arrived with the momentum of three consecutive top‑10 finishes and the certainty that the car had regained pace. The victory at the Ecocentro, the 11th of his career in the category, gives him the points he needed to get closer to the qualifying zone just as the calendar narrows to two races before the Chase cut‑off.

The race had Alex de Alba as the fastest in Friday practice. He started from fourth position and stayed in the lead group throughout the race. He managed to close the gap to the leader in the closing stages, but the final caution halted his advance and left him with third place. De Alba had won at Aguascalientes and was looking for his second victory of the season at Querétaro. The third place keeps him solid in the overall standings and firmly on track for the Chase, where he will defend the title he won in 2025.

José Luis Ramírez joined the top three with a charge from the back that took him into the fight for victory until the final laps. The result keeps him within the group of drivers fighting for a postseason berth and gives him reasons to keep climbing in the remaining races.

Helio Meza was not at Querétaro because his main programme in 2026 is the Trans‑Am Series TA2, which that same weekend was racing at Road America. It is the second NASCAR México round he has missed due to calendar conflicts. His car, the 27, was driven by Chispa Rodríguez, who started from pole and won his first race in the Challenge category, ahead of Emiliano Richards, the championship leader, and Mateo Girón. From this point on, the calendars of both series no longer overlap.

The Chase format in the NASCAR México Series awards ten direct berths to the top ten in the overall standings. That detail keeps drivers like Razo alive, who arrived at Querétaro far from the cut but now have a real chance to break in. With San Luis Potosí and Puebla still to come, the victory at the Ecocentro restores the confidence and points he needed to fight for a Chase berth.
