Nyck de Vries secured his first Formula E victory since Berlin 2022 this Saturday in Monaco, winning the first race of the double-header with Mahindra Racing, a result that moved Mitch Evans to the top of the championship standings. The ninth round of the season, which concludes this Sunday on the same street circuit, was defined by De Vries' PIT BOOST strategy and an incident between the two Porsches that reshuffled the overall classification.

De Vries started from the front row and took his PIT BOOST on lap 16, earlier than most of his pursuers. He activated ATTACK MODE on lap 20 and overtook Antonio Felix da Costa with a clean move through the principality's streets to take the lead. From that moment, he maintained a margin of around three seconds until the checkered flag, with no one able to challenge him. The victory is the fifth of his career in the series and the first for Mahindra in the current era of the championship.

Dan Ticktum, who had qualified on pole on Friday, stayed among the top three for almost the entire race, but contact with Da Costa on lap 28 earned him a penalty that dropped him from third to twelfth place. The penalty opened the door for his CUPRA KIRO teammate, Pepe Martí, who at 21 years old became the first Spanish representative to reach a top-3 finish in the category's history. Felipe Drugovich was fourth, while Sébastien Buemi and Joel Eriksson rounded out the top six.

Lap 10 shook up the world championship standings when Nico Müller hit his teammate Pascal Wehrlein from behind. Wehrlein arrived in Monaco as the championship leader. He suffered a puncture, while Müller lost his front wing, forcing both to pit and leaving them out of contention. Wehrlein finished a lap behind the winner and lost the championship lead. Evans, with his second-place finish, now holds a 15-point advantage in the overall standings, and Jaguar also displaced Porsche from the top spot in the teams' classification.

Formula E returns to the same track this Sunday for the tenth round of the championship, the second race of the Monaco double-header.
