Emiliano Richards, the defending champion, took the first GTM Pro 1 race in the second round of the 2026 Súper Copa Roshfrans, held at the Súper Óvalo Chiapas in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, a venue known for hosting NASCAR México events but where Súper Copa had never raced before. For this occasion, the series used a roval-type configuration that combines part of the oval with a road course section.
Emiliano Richards started from the pole position with a time of 1:01.322 and won the 40-minute race, a result that allows him to respond after the first round of the year where he couldn't reach the podium. Paul Jourdain finished second and Gerardo "Grillo" Nieto third, a podium that also helps Paul Jourdain shake off what happened in Yucatán, where he had second place in hand and let it slip away.
Michel Jourdain returned to the track
Michel Jourdain took the wheel normally driven by Franco Zanella, winner of the second race in Yucatán, and qualified third with a 1:01.487, just three-hundredths behind Paul Jourdain. In the race, he finished fifth and, after getting out of the car, made it clear that the appetite is still there. "I like being back on track; it's something all us drivers have, and I didn't do too badly. Winning is a possibility that is latent," he said. It was not reported why Franco Zanella did not race in Chiapas.
Eloy Falcón wins the second race
Eloy Falcón, better known for his activity in NASCAR México, won the second hit of the Sunday in a race where Mario Domínguez again lost positions relative to his starting spot, something that had already happened to him in Yucatán when he qualified second and finished eighth. In Chiapas, Mario Domínguez started from the pole and fell to 14th place.
Irwin Vences finished second and José Arellano fifth, extending a consistency that places him among the most steady drivers in these first two rounds, with two third-place finishes in Yucatán and never dropping out of the top 6 in any race in Chiapas. Manolín Gutiérrez, who had started fourth, finished ninth.
GTM Light
César Jiménez was the fastest in GTM Light in both qualifying sessions and converted that speed into victory in the first race, where he finished ninth overall ahead of Jerónimo de Yturbe and Alonso Ariño. In the second race, he couldn't repeat and fell to 11th place in the category. The one who took advantage was Marcelo González, who had qualified 12th overall and climbed to sixth place absolute to take the Light victory, with Fercho Urquiza second and Rafael Vallina Jr third.
Santiago Tovar wins in Tractocamiones
Santiago Tovar, the 2025 runner-up who had finished sixth in Yucatán, won the Tractocamiones race in Chiapas with Juan Cantú second and Héctor Aguirre third. Aguirre is the only one to repeat a podium between the two rounds, as he had finished second in Yucatán. Eduardo Alquicira, the winner in the first round, fell to sixth place. Paul Jourdain finished fifth.
