iRacing, the leader in racing simulation, and the INDYCAR SERIES have announced a multi-year licensing agreement that promises to take the excitement of racing to a new level.
This agreement marks the reunification of two legendary brands, a bond that dates back over a decade. The inclusion of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the agreement opens the door to the return of the thrilling iRacing Indianapolis 500 in the Special Events calendar format. This annual event has historically attracted thousands of participants who compete in a virtual version of the world's most iconic race, known for its 200 laps of pure speed in the "Racing Capital of the World."
The revival of this license has been eagerly anticipated by both iRacing members and INDYCAR SERIES fans. Tony Gardner, President of iRacing, expressed his excitement: "The INDYCAR SERIES and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway are racing properties that need to be on iRacing. There's no better way for fans to experience simulated racing than on iRacing, and whether it's the INDYCAR Indy 500, NASCAR's Brickyard 400, or IMSA's Battle at the Bricks, there's nothing like racing at Indianapolis. I'm thrilled to bring these events back to the iRacing community."
In addition to the rebranding of INDYCAR SERIES events in iRacing, members will have access to series content for private events and leagues. Ben Hendricks, Senior Manager of eSports and Emerging Virtual Experiences at INDYCAR, also shared his excitement: "We are very excited for our players and most dedicated fans to have full access to the INDYCAR SERIES through this licensing agreement with iRacing. They have been long-time partners, and we look forward to official INDYCAR SERIES racing on iRacing for many more years."
