The stretch of 462 kilometers was not only a physical challenge due to its initial sand dunes but also a test in terms of navigation and driving skill. This year, the Dakar Rally tested competitors not only in terms of speed but also in their ability to navigate through complex and challenging terrains.
One of the highlights of the stage was the spectacular performance of "Monsieur Dakar," Stéphane Peterhansel. His experience and skill were demonstrated by achieving his 50th victory in special car stages, equaling the record of Ari Vatanen. This victory was not only a personal achievement for Peterhansel but also a boost for the Audi team, with his teammate Carlos Sainz leading the overall standings and another Audi driver securing the sixth position.
On the other hand, young American Seth Quintero displayed an impressive performance, challenging the veterans and securing a leadership position at various points in the race.
Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, with his experience and skill, remained in the fight for the lead despite facing some setbacks. His sixth place in the second day of the rally was enough to keep him at the top of the overall standings, surpassing competitors like Yazeed Al Rajhi and defending champion Nasser Al Attiyah.
