Austin Dillon will replace Austin Hill in the No. 21 car of Richard Childress Racing for the August 3 race at Iowa Speedway, after NASCAR suspended Hill for intentionally wrecking Aric Almirola at Indianapolis. Carson Hocevar will also race at Iowa in the No. 11 car for Kaulig Racing as an additional appearance.

Dillon replaces Hill following one-race suspension

Richard Childress Racing confirmed Austin Dillon as the driver of the No. 21 Chevrolet after Hill received a suspension for intentionally wrecking Almirola at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The incident occurred when Hill retaliated after initial contact from Almirola.

Hill maintains third place in the championship with 650 points and three wins, but must forfeit all his accumulated playoff points. RCR announced they will not appeal the penalty and that Hill will keep his spot in the postseason.

Hocevar adds additional appearance with Kaulig Racing

Carson Hocevar will drive the No. 11 car for Kaulig Racing as an additional appearance to his Cup Series schedule. The 22-year-old driver, who competes full-time in the premier series with Spire Motorsports, adds this Xfinity race to his calendar.

"I love racing anywhere, so when they asked me to drive Kaulig's car at Iowa, I jumped at the opportunity," Hocevar stated. "I promise to make the most of it."

Hocevar has only six appearances in Xfinity Series but managed to qualify for the Championship Four in the Truck Series during 2023. Connor Zilisch leads the standings with 729 points and five wins, followed by Justin Allgaier with 750 points and three victories. Hill remains in third place despite the penalty, while Jesse Love is fourth with 654 points and one win. Brandon Jones rounds out the top five with 595 points.
