Mateo Girón wins in Puebla for the third consecutive time

Mateo Girón won the eighth round of Trucks México Series held at Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed. The driver advanced from sixth position to secure his fifth victory of the 2025 season and extend his lead in the overall standings.

Rodríguez claims pole position in Puebla with 44.609

Gerardo Rodríguez set the fastest time in qualifying with 44.609, securing pole position for Sunday's race. Roberto Espinosa surprised by qualifying second in the #96 truck, followed by Rafael Maggio in third position.

The pole-sitter of the #26 couldn't be surpassed by any of his competitors throughout the session. Helio Meza, Santiago Torre and Mateo Girón completed the first three rows of the starting grid.

60-lap race starts clean at Miguel E. Abed

The 60-lap competition began on schedule with Gerardo Rodríguez maintaining the lead from pole position. The first half ran without incidents, allowing the #26 driver to manage his advantage and take the stage win at lap 25.

Mateo Girón began his climb from sixth place to position himself second by the end of the first 25 laps. Roberto Espinosa also took advantage of the first stage to maintain his position among the leaders.

The second half intensified when a caution period with less than 20 laps remaining completely reshuffled the running order. Mateo Girón seized the opportunity to challenge Rodríguez's lead, while Espinosa also benefited from the restart.

A new incident involving Roberto Espinosa with 10 laps remaining brought out another yellow flag. This caution set up a direct battle between Girón and Rodríguez for the win, with Helio Meza joining the fight in the final laps.

Valeria Aranda second and Santiago Cruz completes podium

Mateo Girón withstood the pressure in the final laps to secure his third consecutive victory at the Puebla oval. Gerardo Rodríguez, who had led most of the race from pole, finished off the podium.

Valeria Aranda achieved second place in the #27 truck, scoring her second podium of the season. Santiago Cruz completed the podium in third position, capping a successful afternoon for the top three finishers.

Next round on August 10 at Súper Óvalo Potosino

The Trucks México Series action will continue on August 10 when the series visits Súper Óvalo Potosino for the first time this year. The San Luis Potosí track will host the ninth round of the 2025 calendar.
