Jordan Taylor will drive the Chevrolet Silverado #7 for Spire Motorsports in the LiUNA 150 on June 28 at Lime Rock Park. The Wayne Taylor Racing IMSA driver will compete in his first NASCAR Truck Series race with sponsorship from Gainbridge.
Second place at Watkins Glen before announcement
Taylor finished second at Watkins Glen on June 22. He shared the Cadillac #40 with Louis Delétraz and they finished 1.880 seconds behind the winning Acura from Meyer Shank Racing. It was Wayne Taylor Racing's first double podium in GTP this season.
Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque finished third, giving the team their best weekend of the year. The result broke a poor streak for Wayne Taylor Racing in the 2025 IMSA season.
Already raced in NASCAR Cup Series
Taylor isn't new to NASCAR. In 2023 he substituted for Chase Elliott at Circuit of the Americas, driving the #9 for Hendrick Motorsports. He qualified fourth but finished 24th. In 2024 he returned to COTA, this time with Spire Motorsports in the #7.
He also worked as a technical advisor for Hendrick in road course races. He helped Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson with setups for road courses. He participated in testing for the Garage 56 project for Le Mans 2023.
Spire trusts in his experience
"His achievements speak for themselves," said Jeff Dickerson, co-owner of Spire Motorsports. "We're excited to have Jordan in our #7 Gainbridge this weekend."
The deal connects Spire with Wayne Taylor Racing under the TWG Motorsports umbrella. Dickerson added they have high expectations for Connecticut.
Four IMSA championships
Taylor won four IMSA titles: two in Prototype (2013, 2017) and two in GTLM (2020, 2021). He also won the Rolex 24 (2017, 2019), Sebring (2017, 2024), Petit Le Mans (2014, 2018) and his class at Le Mans 2015.
"I know Lime Rock well, but I've always driven very different cars," said Taylor. "It will be a new challenge."
