Corey Heim, driving the Toyota No. 11 for TRICON Garage, won Friday night's SpeedyCash.com 250 in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway. The race extended to 174 laps after requiring two overtimes to determine the winner.

Heim, who led a total of 96 laps, had to fight until the end to secure what is now his fourteenth series victory - a record that makes him the youngest driver (22 years old) to achieve this number of wins.

"I wasn't going to lose this opportunity. I've let too many slip away this year. When they put me three-wide going into turn one, I gave it everything I had."

Double Overtime Finish

The race required two overtime attempts to be decided. During the first attempt, a quick caution flag interrupted the action almost immediately. On the second restart, Ben Rhodes, running in second position, maintained his outside line alongside Heim through the first two turns.

Entering turn three, both drivers had to lift, which gave Daniel Hemric an opportunity to make a move on the inside down the frontstretch. Heim responded with a strong run off the corner, powered his way between trucks and took the lead by passing both Hemric and Rhodes in turn one.

With a final margin of 0.279 seconds, Heim crossed the finish line ahead of Hemric, while Rhodes fell back to sixth after losing momentum.

"I didn't like how he raced me in turns 3 and 4. The racing groove is extremely narrow here, that's why we saw so many wrecks. I had to lift."

A Track That Tested Drivers to the Limit

The Fort Worth oval proved particularly challenging throughout the evening. On lap 31, rookie Giovanni Ruggiero lost control entering the tri-oval after running over the inside grass, collecting Brandon Jones and Kaden Honeycutt in a violent crash.

"It's really hard to see the grass on the frontstretch when you have other trucks in front of you."

After the second stage break, the race saw a change of pace. For 60 consecutive green-flag laps beginning on lap 87, Heim built a 15.794-second lead, until Frankie Muniz had an incident in turn 2 on lap 147.

In total, the race saw 11 caution flags for 57 laps - nearly one-third of the total distance. These numerous interruptions resulted in an event duration of 2 hours, 33 minutes and 31 seconds, with an average winning speed of 102.008 mph.

Texas Ends Long Streak

Heim's victory ended a streak of 21 consecutive Series races that had finished under regular conditions without needing overtime.

With this result, Heim extends his championship lead to 46 points over Chandler Smith, who finished sixteenth in this race.

The final statistics show 15 lead changes among 9 different drivers. Following Heim's 96 laps led, Tyler Ankrum was next with 24 laps out front, and Grant Enfinger added 19.

Rajah Caruth finished third, followed by Ankrum in fourth, while Tanner Gray completed the top five after an impressive charge from his 25th starting position.
