The third round of the 2025 NASCAR Mexico calendar concluded this Sunday with Xavi Razo winning the Commscope 200 at Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed in Puebla. The #7 car driver gained advantage in the final laps to secure his playoff berth and maintain the championship lead.

From third to first

Despite Alex de Alba claiming pole position during Saturday's qualifying with a 01:01.840 lap on the 2,590-meter mixed circuit, Razo used perfect pit strategy to take the lead with approximately 30 laps remaining.

Starting third on the grid behind De Alba and Julio Rejón, the eventual race winner executed a meticulous drive.

Second triumph in Puebla

This marks Razo's second victory at Puebla circuit: "The local fans recognized our effort and that means everything. Now with playoffs secured, my focus shifts to the championship finale in Panama," said the winner.

De Alba settles for second

Though unable to maintain his qualifying position, Alex de Alba secured runner-up. The San Luis Potosí native, already playoff-bound, noted this was where he earned his first series victory.

"This track holds special memories. Now I aim to clinch the regular season championship in Panama, a circuit I'm told has exciting characteristics," De Alba stated post-race.

Sebastian rounds out podium

Eloy Sebastian claimed third, maintaining his championship position. The driver vowed to pursue victory at the next round in Aguascalientes.

The podium ceremony featured Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier; Tourism Secretary Yadira Lira Navarro; Sports Secretary and world boxing champion Gabriela Sánchez Saavedra; Legislator Mayela Gómez; Alex Armenta Arellano, the governor's son; Jimmy Morales, NASCAR Mexico Director; Julián Abed, Track Director; and Víctor Pineda, NASCAR Mexico Representative.

Rejón looks ahead

Julio Rejón, who started second, had expressed confidence Saturday about contending for victory. "I've got the car to do it," he declared after qualifying, though ultimately couldn't convert in Sunday's race.

The 2025 NASCAR Mexico Series continues at Aguascalientes as drivers continue their playoff push toward the season finale in Panama.
