Mateo Girón solidified his position as the driver to beat in the 2025 season by securing his third consecutive victory on Saturday, April 12 at the Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed, located in Amozoc, Puebla.

The motorsport event, held on the 2,590-meter mixed layout, began with Gerardo Rodríguez securing the privileged position during the morning qualifying session, managing to outperform his competitors in the #26 truck.

As the 40-lap race began, Rodríguez and Girón engaged in an intense duel for the lead during the first half of the competition. The appearance of the green checkered flag to mark the end of the first segment kept both drivers in the top positions.

Pit strategy proved decisive for the race outcome. After the pit stops, Everardo Fonseca in the #94 truck temporarily took the lead, followed by Girón. Meanwhile, Rodríguez lost positions and later became involved in a multi-car incident that relegated him to 13th place.

From that moment on, the Zacatecas-born Girón showed superiority by taking the lead and managing his advantage until the checkered flag, thus completing his flawless season start with a third victory.

"I'm very happy, it was a very tough race. At first it was difficult, our plan was to maintain second position and then attack after the stage. We did just that and, all things considered, we knew how to overcome the adversities," commented the driver after his victory.

The battle for the remaining podium positions was intense. Edwin Arenas in the #51 truck claimed second place, while Valeria Aranda in the #27 completed the podium in third position.

Meanwhile, Rafael Maggio finished in eighth place. "We need to work hard with the team to adjust the setup. Today we didn't have the desired pace," explained the Mexico City-based driver.

Puebla native Alexandra Mohnhaupt finished in eleventh position with mixed feelings: "It's bittersweet because we finished on the lead lap, however, we still need to work with the team - I don't feel comfortable and that's affecting us. I came with the mindset to win on this track that favors us, but we haven't been able to take full advantage of it."

The action will continue this Sunday, April 13 with the fourth round of the season, inverting the top ten grid positions for the race scheduled at 11:30 AM, also for 40 laps with a planned stage on lap 18.
