Connor Zilisch, just 18 years old, will participate in the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 of the NASCAR Cup Series on May 25th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Trackhouse Racing confirmed that the development driver will take the wheel of the Chevrolet No. 87 sponsored by Red Bull for his second appearance in the top category.

Having the opportunity to compete in one of NASCAR's most important events is fantastic. The Charlotte 600 race is one of the most prestigious on the calendar. It will be both a physical and mental challenge due to the demanding nature of this event. I thank Justin Marks, owner and founder of Trackhouse, and everyone at Red Bull for their support in making this opportunity a reality.

Second appearance in NASCAR Cup Series

The driver from Mooresville, North Carolina, currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports. His first victory of the 2025 season came on March 1st at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. One day later, he made his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series driving the same Chevrolet No. 87 from Red Bull that he will use in Charlotte, although an accident past the halfway point of the race interrupted his performance.

Progress in the 2025 season

Zilisch continues to build his resume in 2025, having achieved his second pole position of the season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on March 28th at Martinsville Speedway, Virginia.

The year 2024 marked his breakthrough in the NASCAR scene, when he joined as a Red Bull athlete and achieved an impressive record that includes winning in his debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Watkins Glen International, securing two poles in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and victories at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, four ARCA races, and one CARS Tour event.

Partnership with Red Bull

The relationship between Zilisch and Red Bull began in September 2024, when the driver officially announced his incorporation into the brand's athlete family. Since then, Red Bull has been instrumental in his career, supporting him both in the NASCAR Cup Series and in his development as a driver.
