De Alba Jr. triumphs at the NASCAR Mexico Oval Chiapas

Potosino secures his qualification as Lopez concludes his racing career

Alex de Alba, in car number 14, was crowned champion in the second race of the 2025 calendar, held on March 23 in Berriozábal, Chiapas.

This victory grants De Alba direct access to the season's final phase. The driver from San Luis Potosí started in second position and took advantage of the 1,200-meter track characteristics to take the lead and maintain it until the end.

"This is a triumph for the entire team that gave me a great car. I’ve already secured my spot in the final phase, but I’ll keep chasing more victories," Alex commented after the race.

San Luis Potosí drivers take top two spots in secondary category

The San Luis Potosí group secured the top two positions in the secondary category during the Chiapas event. Víctor Barrales, in car #39, started in sixth place and advanced to take first in his division and eighth in the overall standings.

Regina Sirvent, the only woman on the grid, achieved second place in this category with her #10 car. The driver had qualified fourth and delivered a strong performance in front of the attending crowd.

Rogelio López's final race after 28 years

The Chiapas race also held significance for Mexican motorsports, as it marked Rogelio López's final participation, closing his career after 28 years of competition.

The driver from Aguascalientes completed the race in car number 6. López ends his career with over 26 wins, one championship, and two runner-up finishes in the category.

"I’m grateful for everything I’ve experienced on and off the track. I retire happy and thankful to those who supported this project that now comes to an end," López said afterward.

Next race in Puebla

The third race of the 2025 calendar will take place on April 13 at the Puebla Autodrome, where competitors will look to improve their standings.
