Salvador de Alba Jr. had a perfect weekend at the Autódromo Monterrey on March 16, where he won both races of the GTM Pro1 during the second round of the Super Copa Roshfrans 2025, solidifying his position as the championship leader.

Successful competition after practice incident

Sunday's activities proceeded as scheduled, despite an incident during the practice sessions the day before when one of the GTM cars went off the track and ignited dry grass and some tires placed as protection. This incident caused a delay of approximately two hours in the program while water tanks and fire extinguishers were replenished to control the fire.

The organization took preventive measures by hiring several water tanks that were distributed around the Monterrey circuit, while Civil Protection noted that such incidents are common during the season due to static electricity and dry grass in the Monterrey region.

Salvador de Alba Jr. maintains his supremacy

The Jalisco driver began his dominance in the qualifying rounds by securing the pole position for both races in his Mercedes #1. In the first race, which started at 10:25 AM, De Alba Jr. maintained the lead from start to finish, securing his third victory of the season.

In the second race, he repeated the feat, earning his fourth victory of the year without conceding a single point and solidifying his position at the top of the overall standings. Alfredo Mena also contributed to the successful weekend by taking third place in the first Pro 2 race in car #32.

"Little by little, we are achieving what we want. These results reflect the great work of everyone, a group that dedicates themselves not only on race weekends but every day in the workshop," commented Salvador de Alba Jr. after his victory.

The podium in the first GTM Pro 1 race was completed by Emiliano Richards and Mario Domínguez, while in the second race, Gerardo Nieto and Manolín Gutiérrez joined De Alba Jr. on the podium.

Other weekend winners

In the GTM Pro 2 category, the winners were Rafael Vallina and "Keko" Pérez, while in GTM Light, the victories went to César Jiménez and Fernando Urquiza.

Salvador de Alba Jr. also had success in the Tractocamiones category, where he secured the victory in the FOTON #48, starting from the second position in the 35-minute race. Juan Cantú came in second, and Harry Dueñas completed the podium, maintaining his championship lead after his victory in Mérida.
