Katherine Legge will drive the Chevy Camaro No. 78 DROPLiGHT at Phoenix Raceway on March 9, 2025, marking her entry into the NASCAR Cup Series. Live Fast Motorsports welcomes the experienced competitor for the Shriners Children's 500 race.
Breaking Barriers in Motorsports
This collaboration between Legge and Live Fast Motorsports CEO Jessica McLeod creates the first female driver-owner duo in NASCAR's premier series since the partnership of Danica Patrick and Kelley Earnhardt Miller in 2010.
"Racing stock cars has given me a renewed enthusiasm for this sport," said Legge about her upcoming appearance in the Cup Series. "I am grateful for the opportunity to do what I love."
Corporate Support Fuels Her Historic Participation
Two companies are backing Legge's debut in Phoenix. DROPLiGHT, a full-service venture studio that helps businesses grow through strategy and operational excellence, joins as the primary sponsor. Sherfick Companies, a family-owned real estate development and construction business, also supports this initiative.
Joseph Anderson, CEO of DROPLiGHT, commented on their first racing sponsorship: "There's no better place to start than Phoenix and no better driver to represent our brand than Katherine Legge."
Michael Sherfick, CEO of Sherfick Companies, added that sponsoring talented drivers "has always been about more than just promotion—it's about supporting determination, precision, and the relentless pursuit of excellence."
Notable Racing Career
Legge brings extensive motorsports experience to Phoenix. She holds the record for the fastest qualifying effort by a woman in the history of the Indianapolis 500, set in 2023. In 2005, she became the first woman to win a major open-wheel race in North America.
Her diverse portfolio includes podiums in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, participation in the 24 Hours of Daytona, races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and competition in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
Jessica McLeod, co-owner of Live Fast Motorsports, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership: "The opportunity to have such an adaptable and dynamic driver, a championship winner, joining our program is exciting for everyone on our team."
