San Luis Potosí hosted the first victory of the 2025 season for Rubén García Jr., who, behind the wheel of the Chevrolet No. 88, claimed the San Luis Capital 200 of NASCAR México. The current champion of the category started his campaign strongly by securing a spot in the playoffs.

Intense battle for victory

The battle for first place kept the fans in San Luis Potosí on the edge of their seats. García Jr. was engaged in a constant duel with Xavi Razo, who, despite his attempts, could not overtake the driver, having to settle for second place.
Rubén Rovelo completed the podium by finishing in third place. "It's a good start to be on the podium in the first race of the season, considering the incidents during the race," said Rovelo after the award ceremony.

Controversy at the finish

Not everything was celebration for the winner, as part of the crowd expressed their discontent with a maneuver made by García Jr. towards the end of the race. Amid the boos, the driver explained his move: "I did nothing illegal, this is totally part of the race," while congratulating his rivals and thanking his sponsors for their support.

Vecchi wins the Challenge category

In the Challenge category, Giancarlo Vecchi took first place. After starting first on the grid, the driver from the capital controlled the pace throughout the race, especially in the second half, which allowed him to secure the victory and a spot in the playoffs.

"I have no words to express what I feel right now, a thousand thanks to the team for giving me a car that I could ask anything of," said Vecchi after crossing the finish line.

Diego Ortíz finished in second place: "We started the 2025 season well, and although we were very close to victory, we leave with our motivation intact." The podium was completed by Jorge de la Parra, who expressed his ambitions for this season: "We're going for everything in 2025."
