Austin Hill reaffirmed his dominance at Atlanta Motor Speedway by taking the victory in the Bennett Transportation and Logistics 250 of the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Driving the No. 21 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, Hill led 146 of the 163 laps, securing his first win of the 2025 season.
Total control in Atlanta
Hill, a Georgia native, has made Atlanta his territory. With this victory, he now has five wins at the track, including the last three in a row. Despite leading the majority of laps, the race’s conclusion was not easy. On a restart with three laps to go, he briefly lost the lead but, with a push from Parker Retzlaff, regained the top spot in turn one of the final lap and crossed the finish line with a 0.216-second advantage.
Reigning series champion Justin Allgaier and veteran Aric Almirola also fought for the lead on the final restart but finished second and third, respectively.
With this win, Hill matched Kevin Harvick's record of five victories in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Atlanta. Additionally, his eighth win on drafting tracks places him alongside Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart in the series' historical rankings.
The weekend was also successful for Richard Childress Racing, as Jesse Love, Hill’s teammate, secured the pole position. This marked the team’s second pole-win double of the season, making them the only team to achieve this in 2025. Hill and Love led all but four laps.
Sammy Smith and rookie Nick Sanchez completed the top five. A last-lap crash altered the finishing order, affecting several drivers who had been running in the top ten. Jeb Burton, Daniel Dye, Leland Honeyman, William Sawalich, and Harrison Burton rounded out the top ten.
Christian Eckes, from Kaulig Racing, earned the point for the fastest lap of the race.
With this result, Hill moved into the championship lead by one point over Sheldon Creed, who finished 14th after being involved in the final-lap incident. Jesse Love, the Daytona winner, finished 16th.
